I work with founders, CEOs, and senior leaders on decisions made under constraint.
The work is about judgment: seeing the situation clearly enough to decide what actually needs to happen next.
The stance I bring
Most leadership problems are not caused by lack of effort or intent.
They come from unclear authority, competing incentives, and decisions being made without a shared view of the system.
My role is not to manage on your behalf.
It is to surface what is already present, name the real constraints, and support decisions you own.
That requires:
- Clarity over comfort
- Focus over activity
- Fewer decisions made deliberately, not more decisions made quickly
How the work runs
This is a standing relationship, not a project. I work with one leader at a time, on a monthly basis, for as long as it stays useful to both of us.
Some of it is a scheduled call. Most of it is being reachable when a real decision is in front of you and you want another set of eyes on it before you commit.
Occasionally the work is a single scoped engagement instead, when the situation calls for it. The standing relationship is the default, not the fallback.
Boundaries
I work with product and engineering leaders, one at a time.
Company, industry, and stage tell you less than you might think. What matters is disposition. The good engagements wanted to get better. The bad ones were stuck in their ways.
The question worth asking yourself before you reach out: what have you already tried, and what happened? I am looking for a thinking partner, not a rescue.
Plainly, this is not for:
- PE-owned companies, unless the work is at board level. You can’t change toxic cultures.
- Big traditional companies that say they want to shift to modern product methods. The intent is usually real, the appetite for change is not, and deep pockets do not fix that.
- Anyone whose team is being sent rather than choosing to come. Mindful leadership is only for people who opt in.
- Organizations with no real appetite to change, whatever the stated brief.
I do not run programs, act as a proxy decision-maker, or take responsibility for outcomes I don’t control.
