How to run better meetings, starting with the ones you already have
Classify every recurring meeting. The ones with no type and no agenda are the problem.
The meetings-are-a-waste crowd has it backwards. In knowledge work the meeting is not the interruption to the real work. It is the real work, because the work is discussing and sharing ideas.
Which means a bad meeting is rarely a meeting problem. It is an unnamed type, a missing agenda, or a group of people who should not be in a room together.
This worksheet audits what is already on your calendar rather than telling you to have fewer meetings.
What you get
- The three meeting types, so you can name one before the room starts
- An audit table for every recurring meeting you hold
- A test for whether an existing meeting could just cover the topic instead
